ACF Update 11/6/20
Wet weather and wet soils continue to slow us down at the Andrews Community Forest. The logger has been able to work dry days and dry areas of the forest, but probably will not be able to resume full-time work until the ground freezes (although there will be some good drying conditions over the next week!). This is a common situation for late October through early December in Vermont – most responsible loggers are used to not working full time during this period. We continue to be cautious and conservative, trying to get as much work done as we can without causing damage to soils or risking erosion.
I’m continuing to post short update videos on
the project on my YouTube channel. My most recent one can be found here:

Stay tuned for more video updates, and
recordings of the virtual events we do about the work at the ACF, on the
Andrews Community Forest playlist on the Chittenden County Forester YouTube
channel, here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWk3DKdWmNIb5VOql7MqxJ09GqXg0kPVl. Follow along throughout the project on Front Porch
Forum, ACF's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AndrewsCommunityForest), by joining my email list (send an email to ethan.tapper@vermont.gov to join) and attending some of the many virtual
events from our upcoming events series this fall.
